Former Ethereum Foundation researcher Virgil Griffith plans to request changes in a court case against him as a result of a trip to North Korea.

Griffith „will now seek to have the case transferred out of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York,“ the Inner City Press said in a July 23 report.
Griffith’s court in previous months
Griffith faced initial charges in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York in January 2020 for traveling to North Korea, where he informed the parties about the use of crypto currencies and their ability to fly under the legal radar. Authorities arrested Griffith in November 2019.

Brian E. Klein, Griffith’s legal counsel, asked the courts to allow the defendant to use the Internet on July 20, citing a consultation on an incoming job proposal, Inner City Press reported. The Ethereum Foundation suspended Grifith, giving reasons why the defendant would be interested in a job offer.

Castel, the New York judge in the case, „made arguments about the location, if not the conditions of the bail“ on July 23, Inner City Press reported.
