Sponsorships Open for 2008 Tech Excellence Awards

NMITSA is pleased to announce sponsorship opportunities for our fourth annual New Mexico IT Excellence Awards. Your sponsorship allows NMITSA to recognize exceptional individual and organizational excellence in IT throughout the State and directly enables NMITSA to support IT education in the State.

This year’s event will be on Thursday, November 6th, from 6pm to 9pm, at the Hyatt, Downtown Albuquerque. We’re especially excited to announce that Stan Szymanski, Senior Vice President of Digital Production and Creative Resources with Sony Pictures Imageworks, will be our keynote presenter at this year’s event.

A key initiative of the New Mexico Information Technology & Software Association (NMITSA) is to promote IT education throughout K-12 schools and your sponsorship will enable us to continue this effort into 2009. We believe this effort is critical to developing the next generation of IT professionals and to the ultimate success of the IT industry in New Mexico. NMITSA has focused its attention on developing and promoting IT career pathways (academies), recognizing and promoting excellence in IT education, and supporting key IT education programs such as the New Mexico Supercomputing Challenge and Albuquerque High School IT Academy. The long-term success of the IT industry in New Mexico is directly tied to our children’s education today.
